When even desolate islands without ferry access can be captured by the lens, it signifies the gradual disappearance of free living spaces, leaving people with nowhere to escape. The artwork depicts Hong Kong’s uninhabited islands, unreachable by public ferries, painted on silk. Green lighting is added behind the silk’s interwoven textile texture, transforming its weave into pixel-like patterns resembling omnipresent surveillance cameras. The work critiques the pervasive voyeurism and constraints of modern society, prompting reflection on freedom and privacy.
